Welcome! Thanks so much for stopping by. Affordable Home Services provides responsible and reliable assistance to Wilmington, NC residents in the Monkey Junction and Independence Mall areas. I specialize in residential lawn care and personal errand and chore assistance and am happy to meet with you to offer a no-obligation estimate of services. Don't hesitate to call or write and we'll chat about your specific needs.

If you'd like to know more about me and my family first, page down for a brief bio.

Lawn Care  Going on vacation and need the yard tidy for a couple weeks? Are you moving but haven't sold your home yet and need the lawn to look "model home" perfect?

How about just giving yourself a much deserved break? The summer can get awfully long and hot here. Give me a call!

Services can include mowing, edging, trimming and weed control.  I'm available for a one-time visit and monthly or seasonal contracts are available. I'll work with you to determine your exact needs and offer a no-obligation estimate.

I also offer assistance with seasonal chores such as gutter cleaning (one story only), leaf removal, storm debris clean up, planting and mulching. Remember, no job is too small!

Helping Hand Services  Are you just too busy to tackle the everyday chores or maybe can't physically do it on your own? Need some assistance with errands, shopping and deliveries?

Or maybe you're going out of town and need someone trustworthy to watch your house. Does Fido need to be walked and Fluffy fed? Are the plants watered and the mail and newspaper brought in?

I can help deliver the new entertainment center or assemble the  bookshelves. Need some assistance setting up a new computer or stereo system?

I'm here to help! Give me a call and we'll chat about your requirements and come up with a plan of action.

Rate Information  All rates start at $20.00 for the first hour of service and then $5.00 for each additional fifteen minutes. No job is too small, so please don't be afraid to ask me for assistance with your smaller chores.

Service Area  I prefer to limit my clients to the Monkey Junction and Independence Mall areas, though I will consider other special situations. Just call and talk to me about your needs.

Now, On a Personal Note- I am married with one child. We are homeowners in River's Edge, a beautiful new development of brick patio homes bordering the back side of Echo Farms Country Club at the corner of Independence Blvd. and River Rd. My wife Mary is a professional salesperson with a company called Pitsco. She travels extensively but has the luxury of working from home when she's in town.

I've been a full time stay-at-home dad since our child was five years old. I thoroughly enjoy working with the public and prior to being a stay-at-home-dad I was in customer relations where service and support were job one. In my early years I was a volunteer firefighter and served in the Air Force as a crash firefighter at military bases around the country.

We have five other "children"- Blue, the Australian Cattle Dog; Gizmo the Pekingese; Rocky the Yorkie; Rambo the "maltipoo" mix and Tiger the "schnoodle" mix. What a crew. They keep us laughing all day and we love them all so much. Almost all are "rescue" pups and Rocky came to us with severe emotional problems after being raised in a terrible situation. He's come around beautifully and is one of the most loving of the bunch.

I obviously have plenty of experience taking care of dogs, and our family has owned birds (a macaw, conure, love bird and parakeet), rabbits, guinea pigs, gerbils and tropical fish at some point in the last fifteen years. You can say our life has been a "zoo" at any given time.

I actively volunteer with the Civil Air Patrol, the official auxiliary of the United States Air Force. My wife is also involved (when she's not out of town on business) and our child is a Cadet Technical Sergeant in the squadron and plans on attending the Air Force Academy in a few years.

Civil Air Patrol's Cadet Program builds responsible citizens for America through a positive approach to aerospace, leadership, and life skills. Youth can join CAP 12 through 20 years of age. If you have any questions or would like to know more about CAP, give me a call.

For fun I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the beach to relax. I am a skilled photographer (my post-secondary education includes an Associate of Science degree in Photography) and plan to pick my camera back up after a few years "off". The Wilmington area is a dream come true for a nature photographer, and a goal of mine is to purchase a small watercraft to explore the Cape Fear River and tidal marshes in search of that perfect shot. Maybe in a few years when I "retire".

I'll very much look forward to meeting you and helping in any way I can. Please don't hesitate to call and we can chat about your needs.
